BIOGRAPHY

Dafna Nissim, an art researcher, lecturer, and artist, was born in Israel in 1965. In 1990, Dafna Nissim attained her art teaching certification from Oranim Seminar. Subsequently, she completed her Master of Arts degree from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in 2013, followed by her Ph.D. from the same institution in 2020.

Nissim's research focuses on French and Netherlandish art, delving deep into the emotional and cognitive responses evoked by both devotional and secular artworks.
She is a multidisciplinary artist who explores in her art diverse themes such as bereavement, Jewish Middle Eastern identity, motherhood, and the intricate layers of the artistic experience.
